Why SEO?

Tina Fronk
September 26, 2012

Almost all businesses try numerous ways to market their business and increase their revenues. However, an important strategy everyone should utilize is search engine optimization, or SEO. The basic goal of SEO is to make your website more effective to achieve higher ROI and more traffic.

Your website won't get more traffic if no one can find it. People spend billions of dollars on the Internet, via online shopping, so you need to make yourself available to them. SEO makes this possible. Using the right SEO tactics will raise your website to the top of SERPs and make you more visible to your customers.

So, you've got a great website with a loyal customer base. However, your customer base isn't growing. It's good to have repeat visitors, but without new ones, your business won't continue to grow. Also, 86 percent of in-store buyers first research online before their purchase and 80 percent of those use that information when making their decision.

SEO can optimize your website so you are able to snag these new customers. Potential new customers means higher ROI and a larger customer base. More customers, more money.

SEO also has a high conversion rate. Using SEO, you can match your website to your customers' needs. Keyword research and buying cycle knowledge, among others, will help you increase your sales drastically.

Lastly, SEO is cost effective. Marketers and business owners alike have to worry about cost. If implemented correctly, SEO leads to constant increases in sales and ROI as well as a continuous flow of new customers.

Clearly, SEO can greatly help your campaign and business. For more tips, check out Axandra.com's article: Why SEO?

SEO: Do's and Don't's

Tina Fronk
September 23, 2012

SEO campaigns are vital to the success of any business. They lay out your strategies and goals for the company and how you will achieve these goals in your campaign. To reach your goals, follow these five tips.

1. Goals-Are You Setting The Right Ones?
What are your goals for your website? Rankings should be one of your top priorities. Do you have low rankings on your website? It could be due to ineffective keywords. You need to optimize your website with multiple keywords and phrases that have less competition. If you get high rankings with these keywords, over time, you may get higher rankings for the popular keywords in the same category. Start building your website with less popular keywords to achieve higher rankings.

2. Stay Focused
SEO is an ongoing process and a constant effort is required to see results. Utilize the tools you have and make sure you track, monitor and modify your strategy often. It's a slow process, but you need to stay focused on the big picture and the process to get there.

3. Get The Basics Right
There are always new and exciting technologies in the SEO world to try, but the basics also work. While it's good to keep up with the most current strategies, it's also important to get the basics right. Make sure you optimize your website, use quality content and have good backlinks. After these are covered, you can start expanding into more complex strategies.

4. Keywords-Do Your Research
The keywords you choose are vital. they help people find your page on SERPs and represent your company. However, the best keywords aren't the most sought after ones or the ones that seem obvious. You need to research keywords and which ones will work best for you. Often, the long tail keywords work best.
5. Backlinks
Backlinks are about quality, not quantity. You may have a lot of backlinks, but if they aren't good ones, you'll get punished by Google (Panda and Penguin updates). Avoid automatic links from link building scams and don't buy backlinks. Even if you only have several backlinks, you can still rank well. Remember, it's about quality links, not how many you have.

If you follow these tips, you can reach your goals.

What do you think of email marketing campaigns?

Although some think email is outdated, it continually proves to be one of the most successful marketing campaigns with a high ROI. It's proven success can help your business thrive and advance your company.

Email marketing utilizes the Internet. Well-crafted, thought out emails are sent to a specific audience with a detailed, user-tailored message. If done correctly, email marketing has numerous benefits.

For example, emails have a very low cost per contact. It's a cost effective way to reach more customers and users. Also, you have total control of your content and how specific it needs to be.

A huge bonus is that you can track and measure the effectiveness and success of email marketing. This allows you to make the necessary changes so you can increase your ROI.

Email marketing allows you to build a virtual relationship with your customers. It doesn't need to be said how invaluable these relationships are to your business.

The types of emails you send also make a difference. Promotional emails should be used when you want your customer to make an immediate decision and retention-based emails should be used when trying to build a long-lasting relationship with your customers. Combine the two, and your email campaign is bound to succeed.

If you follow these tips, you will be well on your way to achieving web excellence and increasing profits for you and your business.

User Experience: What is it and Why Should You Care?

Tina Fronk
September 9, 2012

User experience is all about perception and interaction. It is vital to the success of your website. If your users and followers don't perceive your website as valuable and easy to use, you will soon lose them.

So, what is user experience?

Let's start with value. A person will continually revisit a website if it provides something the user perceives as useful and relevant to them.

As a user experience designer, you must find out what the users want. If you can give them what they want, they are more likely to revisit your website.

Even if your website exceeds expectations about value, you may still lose customers. Why? Simplicity. Is your website easy to navigate? If a user has to jump through hoops to get to what they want, they might just leave your site.

Lastly, is your site efficient? For example, is a user able to check out effectively, or do they have to go through numerous steps? Also, is it an enjoyable experience or a terrible one?

These are all factors to consider when designing a website.

The best website is the one that gets repeat visitors and happy users. Sometimes, what you think the customers wants is actually not what they want. Be sure to listen to your audience and their wants and needs.

If you follow these tips, you will be well on your way to a well crafted, user friendly website.
