7 SEO Tips to Jumpstart Success

Tina Fronk
November 29, 2012

In my last blog post we discussed a strategic plan and its importance. The plan lays out the groundwork for your SEO goals and outlines your business plan. What are your SEO goals? Regardless of what they are, these seven tips will guide you to success!

Forbes contributor, Gyro, recently published an article about these seven tips that will help your SEO campaign. First, Gyro strongly encourages everyone to include SEO plans in your strategic planning process. It's much easier to build up your business and website with SEO from the beginning instead of trying to integrate SEO after your website is done.

Next, Gyro notes the importance of URLs. When recreating your website and company, many are temped to change the URLs. This may seem like a good idea, but Gyro warns that this will greatly affect your rankings and links that currently exist. Your current URLs have value that cannot easily be recreated in a short amount of time. Also, rankings and links to your current URLs will be lost if you change your URLs. Carefully consider the pros and cons if you do decide to change them.

Don't forget about your title tags! It seems that title tags are often overlooked, but they hold a lot of influence. Title tags should be clear and concise, so users are tempted to click. Once you find a title tag you like, make sure to test and retest it. Which tags work best for you? High click-through-rates (CTRs) indicate more successful tags. Title tags and CTR are something you should definitely invest in for your business.

SEO for businesses is a large undertaking with an even bigger pay out, if done correctly. Following these tips will definitely point you in the right direction for web success! For the full article, check it out: Forbes SEO Tips

Strategic Planning 101

Tina Fronk
November 25, 2012

With the holidays fast approaching, many businesses have kicked their plains into overdrive. Is your business ready? The best way to prepare for the holidays is to have a detailed and organized strategic plan.

What does a strategic plan entail? A good one should consist of your short- and long-term goals and the tools you will use to achieve these goals. A strategic plan is the foundation of your business so it's crucial to invest your time in addressing the major issues you will face.

You should also explain the current state of your business and what you hope to accomplish in the following weeks, months and years. A plan is just an outline that should help you grow your business and profits.

It's important to monitor and modify your plan as necessary. Your goals and resources may change, so it's vital to update your strategic plan. If you initially spend the time and effort into creating a detailed and specific plan, your business can better adapt to changing situations.

Remember, a strategic plan is the foundation of your business, so the better it is, the stronger your business will be.

It may seem daunting, but it's worth the effort. For more information on strategic planning services, check out www.eprecision.com.

Mobile Marketing Couponing

Tina Fronk
November 16, 2012

Let's talk mobile!

So, marketing across multiple mobile platforms is a great marketing tool. We know it allows customers to shop on the go and also allows marketers to track trends. However, the newest mobile trend is mobile couponing.

According to Juniper Research, over 500 million people will use mobile coupons in the next year. Have you and your business invested in mobile couponing apps? Groupon, Living Social and other coupon-based websites have made mobile apps to reach these millions of people.

Researchers predict that this rise in mobile couponing will be a result of new applications, like mobile wallets, and the integration of coupons into social media networks. Mobile apps have made it much easier for consumers to purchase online and mobile marketers are utilizing these apps to build up a larger customer base and profit.

Also, Juniper's report found that marketers aren't just using coupons to get a quick sale; many companies are now investing in mobile coupons in order to maintain long-term engagement with customers. However, some businesses are hesitant to accept mobile coupons.

Either way, mobile couponing is becoming a big mobile strategy. Do you research and see if mobile couponing is a good idea for your business.

Keyword Research: The Basics

Tina Fronk
November 8, 2012

In the SEO world, keywords mean everything. Why?

If you choose the 'right' keywords, they can make your site rise in the rankings for those specific words. They also make your website more visible to Internet users.

Most search engines use an algorithm to produce search results and part of the algorithm uses keywords. It is important to choose keywords that will make your website highly visible to your customers. If done correctly, keyword research has a high return on investment.

Keyword research also improves your rankings. If your business optimizes the best keywords for your market, the search engines will start to move your website to top of the SERPs. However, how do you know what the 'right' keywords are?

To find the best keywords and phrases, you need to research your customers and your competitors. What do your customers expect from your business? What is your market's keyword demand? What are your competitors using? These are all questions you should consider when beginning the research process.

Keyword research shows how you can target your specific audience. A great starting block for keywords and phrases is the fat head, long tail curve. The curve shows that the fat head is the most popular search terms, but the long tail is where the bulk of search results fall.

So, what does this mean for you? Make sure to make your keywords specific and relevant to your business. They might not be the most popular keywords, but they will yield better results for you and your business.

Your keyword research will help you find the keywords in the long tail. Shockingly, these keywords aren't the most popular, top 10 ones.

Keyword research offers a valuable look into your company and how to make it better. It is a crucial SEO tool. Small and large businesses alike should invest their time and effort into keyword research. The results are worth the wait.
