New year, new tactics, right? Not necessarily. Let's review the tried and true methods that have led to successful SEO campaigns.

A strong campaign can lead to better rankings on major search engines, increase visitors to your website and higher conversion rates for your web pages. If you master the basics, you can build a strong foundation for your future SEO tactics.

First, you need to evaluate your current situation-what's working, what's not? You need to identify any pitfalls and weaknesses in your SEO campaign. A great starting point is your web pages. Are they being indexed by Google and other search engines? If not, you need to fix that immediately.

Also, analyze your website traffic. What are visitors doing on your website; are they buying or just browsing? Visitor activity is a valuable piece of information that can help you modify your strategies.

Next, you must have a proper plan to overcome the obstacles mentioned above. A great way to get started is to set goals! Make realistic, daily, weekly and monthly goals. Track and monitor your goals to see how they are helping (or hurting) your campaign.

Also, take a look at your keywords. Are they working or not? What about your web pages? Web pages need to be engaging and of value to your visitor. If they aren't, then they aren't doing their job and you may actually lose visitors.

Lastly, it is important to implement your plan. Follow through and constantly monitor and change your SEO tactics. If you follow these tips, your SEO campaign will be solid.

So, by now every marketer knows the basics of social media marketing and content marketing. However, some marketers are missing out on a major marketing opportunity. What is it, you may ask? Your customers!

Think about it; your satisfied customers will probably tell others about the great product or service your business provided. This word-of-mouth marketing does a lot of great things for your business. Now, lets learn how to turn your happy customers into brand advocates.

A great marketing tool, your customers can produce quality content for you for FREE. To utilize your customers, you need to find out which ones are advocates. Ask them! Use social media networks like Twitter and Facebook and blogs to see how customers feel about your brand. Those with positive feedback are your advocates.

Next, you need to make it easy for your customers to talk about your brand. Give them access to post on your Facebook and Twitter pages; let them tweet at you; promote videos and blogs. There are numerous ways to boost customer engagement. Make sure you let the public see any reviews or testimonials you've received from happy customers!

Track the brand advocates and learn about them. If you interact and respond to your fans (and your critics), you will surely help them promote your business and services.
